Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif embarked on a day-long visit to Karachi on Wednesday, as reported by state-run Radio Pakistan. His itinerary includes meetings with the Sindh chief minister and governor.
Upon arrival at the Karachi airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz was warmly received by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. He then paid his respects at Mazar-i-Quaid, laying a floral wreath and offering prayers.
Radio Pakistan indicates that the prime minister’s discussions with Governor Tessori and CM Shah will revolve around the “overall political situation and administrative affairs of the province.”
Moreover, PM Shehbaz is slated to engage with key figures from the business community and a delegation from the Karachi Chamber of Commerce. These interactions aim to gather insights and suggestions for enhancing the country’s economic landscape.
Reportedly, this visit marks Prime Minister Shehbaz’s inaugural trip to Karachi since assuming office in early March, as mentioned in a post on X by the PML-N.
Governor Tessori, in another post on X, expressed accompanying PM Shehbaz to Mazar-i-Quaid, where prayers were offered for the nation’s development and progress.
