The Irony! I can’t imagine a more hilarious incident where irony showed its charm. A new-born baby born while holding onto the failed birth-preventing IUD coil of his mother that was used in order to prevent birth. The picture, as you can imagine, went viral on the internet. The pictures actually belong to the 34-year-old mother in Vietnam who already has two other kids and wanted to opt for some contraceptive measures for her family planning.
The now-mother-of-three said that she had the Intrauterine Device that is, birth-preventing IUD inserted in her two years ago but the device failed to do its work and therefore she got pregnant with her third child. But when the child was born, he came holding the failed coil in his hand and was holding it after its birth.
The picture seem so interesting to Tran Viet Phuong that she decided to take a picture of it. She was intrigued by the irony in the picture and thought of sharing it on social media platforms. She didn’t expect te picture to go viral but it received thousands of likes comments and shares.
Phuong said: ‘After delivery, I thought him holding the device was interesting, so I took a picture. I never thought it would receive so much attention.’ The new-born baby was delivered at Hai Phong International Hospital in Hai Phong, Vietnam.
The birth-preventing IUD basically kills the sperm because of the presence of copper in it thereby preventing the sperm from fertilizing the egg in a woman’s body. But according to Phuong, the device would have displaced and therefore it remained ineffective in doing its work.
Even though it was a surprise but the mother is really happy with the birth of her son and is relieved that he is born healthy.
